What is dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a manual exfoliation treatment that removes the outermost layer of dead skin cells together with fine facial hair, often called peach fuzz. It can leave the skin feeling smoother and create a more even surface for skincare and make-up.
Who may choose dermaplaning?
Clients often choose dermaplaning when they want a smoother-looking complexion, gentle surface exfoliation or a cleaner base for make-up. Layla can discuss your skin, current routine and any sensitivities before treatment.
What happens at the appointment?
Your skin and treatment goals can be discussed before the treatment begins. Layla will also explain aftercare and anything you may wish to avoid immediately afterwards. If you have an active skin condition, irritation or another concern, mention it before booking so suitability can be considered.
Before and after dermaplaning
Let Layla know about skin sensitivities, irritation, active breakouts and any products or treatments you are currently using. She can explain whether dermaplaning is suitable and what aftercare to follow. Skin can feel more sensitive following exfoliation, so follow the advice given for your individual appointment.
Dermaplaning focuses on surface exfoliation. If you are comparing different approaches to skin texture, read about microneedling or CACI facials; they work differently and should not be treated as equivalent options.

Dermaplaning questions
Will facial hair grow back thicker after dermaplaning?
No. Removing fine facial hair at the skin's surface does not change its natural thickness, colour or growth rate. It may briefly feel less soft as it grows back because the hair tip has been cut. See Cleveland Clinic's explanation of dermaplaning and hair regrowth.
Does dermaplaning hurt?
Dermaplaning is not usually painful, although some people notice a light scraping or scratching sensation during treatment. Temporary redness or sensitivity can occur afterwards. Tell Layla about any skin concerns before your appointment.
Where can I book dermaplaning near Fareham?
Layla offers dermaplaning from her private treatment room at Abshot Country Club in Titchfield Common, Fareham.
How can I see the current price?
Use the booking button to view Layla’s current treatment menu, prices and appointment availability.
Can I pair dermaplaning with a CACI facial?
These are different treatments: dermaplaning exfoliates the skin's surface, while CACI facials use microcurrent for facial toning. Whether they can be offered together or at separate appointments depends on your skin and Layla's current treatment options; ask before booking.
